Johnny Owens formed The Bakersfield Sound band in 2021. The band consists of 5 musicians from Bakersfield, California. The members of the band are Kyle Appleton on lead guitar, Stryder Callison on pedal steel, Ernie Lewis on Fiddle, Chad Persel on bass guitar and Kyle Burnham on drums.
Johnny and the band members have been long time friends connecting through their love of music and involvement in the Bakersfield country music scene. They specialize in the unique sounds of the key artists who were pioneers in the development in what is today known as, “The Bakersfield Sound.” Their unique sound fuses a twangy, hard driving deep pocket with a raw approach to country music.
